Saudi club NEOM retract offer for Zamalek's Ahmed Sayed Zizo

Saudi club NEOM SC have decided to retract their offer to sign Zamalek’s star man Ahmed Sayed Zizo this summer.

It was revealed that Saudi club NEOM SC have submitted an official bid to Zamalek for the services of Ahmed Sayed Zizo following an impressive showing in the Paris Olympics.

NEOM have been on the ascendency recently having earned promotion to the second tier of Saudi football last season.

Their rise allowed the club to sign a number of high-profile players led by Ittihad duo Ahmed Hegazi and Romarinho as well as Salman Al-Faraj from Al-Hilal.

The offer was believed to be valued at $5 million to be paid in two installments; however, after a lack of response from the Whites, the Saudis decided to retract its bid.

The news comes after Zamalek have also rejected a $3 million offer from Qatari side Al Arabi, who are keen on signing Zizo this summer transfer window.

It remains to be seen whether Zizo will decide to stay and renew his contract with Zamalek or opt for a lucrative Gulf adventure.

Zamalek Spokesperson Ahmed Salem revealed that the club is still waiting for the player’s return to discuss a new contract, while also revealing Zizo could be up for sale if a suitable offer comes to the club.

Zamalek are trying to build their squad for next season as they hope to mount a challenge for the Egyptian Premier League and the CAF Confederations Cup titles.
