Italian manager Stefano Pioli has officially been appointed as the new head coach of Al Nassr after reaching a deal with the Saudi club.
According to Asharq Al-Awsat, Pioli has signed a two-year contract with an option for a third year. He is expected to arrive in Riyadh in the coming days to replace recently sacked Portuguese coach Luis Castro.
The 9 million-euro-per-season deal includes additional bonuses and performance-related incentives and Pioli is set to assemble his coaching staff shortly.
The Italian has an impressive portfolio, having previously managed several top Italian clubs during his career.
He is best known for his time at AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Fiorentina, leading the Rossoneri to their first Serie A title in over a decade, winning the Scudetto in 2022.
Over the course of his coaching career, Pioli has been in charge of 871 matches, recording 366 wins, 248 draws, and 257 losses. His teams have scored 1,259 goals and conceded 1,017.
Before his move to Al Nassr, Pioli was linked to Ittihad Jeddah, but the Saudi club opted to appoint French coach Laurent Blanc instead.
