Thierry Henry praises Egypt after Olympic win

French Olympic team manager Thierry Henry has made sure to show his respect to the Pharaohs after reaching the Paris Olympics final.

Despite being behind until the 83rd minute, France managed to come back and beat Egypt 3-1, thanks to goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Michael Olise to seal a spot in the Olympics final.

The hosts will now face Spain for the gold medal on Friday 9 August, a day after the Pharaohs face Morocco in the third-placed playoff.

Speaking to Le Parisien after the game, Thierry Henry said:” I am dreaming right now and I do not want to wake up. What we have achieved was not easy.

“Egypt has made it difficult on us and I tip my hat out of respect for them.

“Everybody knows how tough is it to play against Spain, they always reach finals. It is up to us to show our quality but it will not be easy.”
