Egypt international Ahmed Hegazi has scored a last-minute winner for Ittihad Jeddah to secure a 3-2 victory over Al-Hazem.
The Egyptian centre-back started in the back as usual for the Tigers in the squad led by skipper Karim Benzema as both Fabinho and Kante missed out on the game.
The visitors found themselves in a commanding position after taking the lead in the 21st minute through Saleh Al Jamaan, before an own goal from Brazilian defender Paulo Ricardo saw their lead double in the 57th minute.
However, Al Hazem stunned Ittihad with two quick successive goals in the 60th and 63rd minutes from Mohammed Al-Thani and Tozé to make it 2-2.
As the game was heading to a draw, Farha Al-Shamrani played a cross to the advanced Ahmed Hegazi whose header was deflected on target, but was denied by the keeper, before the rebound was put into the net by the same player from a tight angle.
The goal is Hegazi’s first in the Saudi Pro League this season and third overall across all competitions as he also received his third yellow card for taking off his shirt to celebrate.
The win moved Ittihad Jeddah up to fourth place, just two behind third-placed Al Ahli, and their next game will see them host Al-Shabab on Friday, April 26.
