Egypt international Omar Marmoush bagged another goal for Eintracht Frankfurt in their massive 3-1 win over rivals FC Augsburg.
After going through a goal drought for six Bundesliga games, Marmoush found the back of the net again to extend his tally to 11 goals this season as Frankfurt secured a hard-fought victory on Friday.
The first half saw the home side concede after just 13 minutes with Ruben Vargas firing Augsburg into the lead from a powerful strike.
Despite a disappointing start, Frankfurt came out firing on all cylinders after the break and restored parity in the 55th minute through Fares Chaibi’s tap-in at the far post.
Paris Saint-Germain loanee Hugo Ekitike also got on the scoresheet for Frankfurt at the hour mark to net their second of the night.
In the dying moments, an Augsburg corner was cleared with their goalkeeper out of position before Marmoush ran the length of the pitch and slotted home in an empty net to seal all three points.
The win helped the Eagles cement their position in sixth place with 45 points and opened up a six-point gap to Augsburg in seventh with just four games remaining.
