Wydad AC coach Rhulani Mokwena faced an outpouring of anger from the club’s fans after their defeat to RS Berkane in the Moroccan league.
The game, held at Wydad’s home stadium, saw the team lose 1-0 to RS Berkane during matchday eight. Ayoub Khairi scored the only goal in the 75th minute, capitalizing on Wydad’s struggles after they were reduced to 10 men from the 50th minute onward.
Tensions rose sharply as a section of Wydad fans directed their frustrations at Mokwena, throwing water bottles at the coach after the final whistle. Security personnel intervened to protect the players and the coaching staff as they left the pitch.
Wydad’s recent form has been under scrutiny, with the club now sitting in seventh place with 11 points after eight matches. The team has suffered back-to-back league defeats, adding to their supporters’ frustrations. Meanwhile, RS Berkane secured their third consecutive win and sit alone at the top of the standings with 17 points.
