Zamalek secured a 3-0 win over Saudi third-tier side Al-Shoulla in a pre-season friendly at Borg El-Arab.
The game witnessed the debut of Moroccan full-back Mahmoud Bentayg, who recently joined Zamalek on loan from Ligue 1 outfit AS Saint-Étienne.
Zamalek started on the front foot, with Sayed Abdallah opening the scoring with a powerful strike in the third minute before Ahmed Abdelrahim added a second goal in the 60th minute.
Nasser Mansi rounded off the victory by scoring the third goal in the final minute, ensuring a comfortable win for the Cairo giants.
The team’s performance against Al-Shoulla, combined with the integration of new players like Bentayg, signals a promising start as they aim to improve in the upcoming season compared to the last.
The Whites finished third in the Egyptian Premier League last season and were knocked out of the Egypt Cup in the round of 16 by El-Gaish.
They are now preparing to kick off the season against Kenyan side Police FC in the Second round of the CAF Confederation Cup, before meeting Al Ahly in the CAF Super Cup.
