Zamalek Board Member: We Were Never Interested in Percy Tau

Ahmed Suleiman, a member of Zamalek’s board of directors, has addressed various topics, including rumors linking Percy Tau to Zamalek.

Speaking to MBC Masr, Ahmed Suleiman denied any interest from Zamalek in signing Percy Tau, stating, “There has never been an offer from Zamalek for Percy Tau. Currently, no one at the club is thinking about signing players from Al Ahly, just as Al Ahly is not considering signing players from us.”

He added, “No player joins Zamalek without José Gomes being fully convinced. As a board, we cannot impose a player on the coach.”

Ahmed Suleiman then decided to end the interview on controversial note saying, “Why wasn’t Emam Ashour called up to the national team for the last camp? Why didn’t the national team staff explain the reason? I won’t comment further due to sensitivities.”

Nevertheless, Suleiman did comment further, “The national team doesn’t have the courage to disclose the reason for Ashour’s absence.”
