Zamalek finished sixth in the IHF Super Globe following a 30-24 victory over Brazilian club Handebol Taubaté in the placement round.
The White Knights placed second in their group but missed out on the semifinals due to having a lesser goal difference than their arch-rivals Al Ahly, who ended up finishing third.
This placed Zamalek in the placement rounds for the tournament’s lower rankings, where they first secured a convincing 41-23 win against American club California Eagles, followed by their victory over Handebol Taubaté to claim sixth place.
Zamalek finished just behind Al Khaleej of Saudi Arabia, who claimed fifth place based on a superior goal difference.
This marks the first time Zamalek has finished sixth in the IHF Super Globe. Previously, the club placed fourth in 2011 and 2012, fifth in 2019 and 2021, and their best result came in 2010 when they finished third.
