Zamalek 'in talks' with South African forward Luther Singh

Cairo giants Zamalek have been linked with a move for South African striker Luther Singh formerly of Sporting Braga and FC Copenhagen.

Zamalek have been struggling up front this season as Seifeddine Jaziri, Nasser Mansi, and Samson Akinyoola only finding the back of the net six times.

Hoping to strengthen their squad for the future, it has been said that Zamalek are eyeing several names to lead the attacking lineup next season, with the recent being South Africa’s Luther Singh.

Singh, who can play on both wings, as well as up top, has been a free agent since departing Serbian side FK Cukaricki back in January only four months after joining the club.

According to South African publication Soccer Laduma, the player has received an offer from Zamalek and the talks are progressing well.

“You know that there are a few clubs interested in his services but from Egypt it is Zamalek. The good thing is that they are the first club that have made an offer for him,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

“I think all the involved parties are talking on the issue and looking at what they have offered it’s not bad at all. At times it’s good to go to a team that needs your services and they are going to use you more often. That’s what Zamalek offers as well. Game time. There is nothing finalised yet but things are looking good so far.”

The 26-year-old lists Sporting Braga, Chaves, Moreirense, and FC Copenhagen as former employers, with the latter spending almost €1.5m for his services in August of 2021.
