Zamalek’s winger Anas Wael began his trial period with Bundesliga 2 club 1.FC Magdeburg in hopes of securing a potential summer move.
Wael, who can also play as a playmaker, traveled to Germany on Friday and had his first training session with the German club on Saturday.
The 19-year-old will spend two weeks with Magdeburg and if he manages to impress, Magdeburg will open negotiations with Zamalek to sign him.
Zamalek had received two offers from Magdeburg and Spanish club Celta Vigo for duo Anas Wael and Ziad Ahmed Fathy to spend a trial period at both club respectively.
Badr Hamed, head of the football sector at Zamalek, told the media center: “Magdeburg requested that Anas Wael spend a two-week trial period.
“Celta Vigo asked the same for Ziad Ahmed Fathi and the club’s management agreed to both offers.
“The noard of directors of Zamalek, headed by Hussein Labib, will not stand in the way of any player.”
