African champions Al Ahly have received approval for 52,000 fans to attend their upcoming Intercontinental Cup match against Al Ain.
Speaking to Al Ahly TV, board member Khaled Mortagy stated: “We have secured approval for a crowd of 52,000 fans for the game against Al Ain, which is nearly the full capacity of Cairo International Stadium.
“Ticket prices will be as follows: 100 LE for third class, 250 LE for second class, and 500 LE for first class.
“Al Ahly will handle all organizational costs for the game, and the only income we will receive is from ticket sales.”
Al Ahly is set to face Asian champions Al Ain on the 29th of October at the Cairo International Stadium in what is called the “Challenge Cup.”
The remainder of the tournament will take place in Qatar from 11 to 18 December 2024. The match’s winner will face either CONCACAF champions, Mexican club Pachuca, or the yet-to-be-decided Copa Libertadores champion.
The FIFA Intercontinental Cup is a new competition set to replace the traditional FIFA Club World Cup, with continental champions competing to secure the championship.
