Marcel Koller stressed the team’s determination to reach the final of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup and face European champions Real Madrid.

Al Ahly thrashed Asian champions Al Ain 3-0 to claim the African–Asian–Pacific Cup and qualify for the Challenger Cup, where they will face the winner of the match between Mexico’s CF Pachuca and the yet-to-be-determined CONMEBOL champion.

Speaking after the game on Tuesday at Cairo International Stadium, Koller expressed his satisfaction with the performance. “We are very happy with the win. We played a great game, and we thank our fans for their incredible support today. It’s a happy day for everyone who loves Al Ahly.”

“We will be facing tough opponents, and we will give our best to secure a place in the final.”

When asked about fans’ expectations to win the league, Koller responded: “Every day, the fans want more titles and victories.”

“Every player executed what we asked of them and played exceptionally well.”

Reflecting on the recent success of winning the Egyptian Super Cup within a week, Koller added, “I have won 11 titles with Al Ahly so far.”

Looking ahead to the Intercontinental Cup semi-final, Koller expressed his ambitions: “I want to win every game, and although that’s not always possible, we will do everything we can to reach the final.”
